The brief

Browns is an independent hairdressing and beauty salon in the picturesque Cliffe High Street in Lewes, East Sussex.

As a long-standing client of Tomango, owner Annette Turner started talking to us in February 2015 about rebranding her growing business.

Our creative director Mike Vine worked closely with Annette to pinpoint what makes Browns unique, and compiled a detailed design brief before starting work on concepts for a new brand identity that would capture these qualities.

The project

The new brand uses the Estilo typeface, which perfectly positions Browns as extremely professional but approachable, as set out in the design brief.

A number of different colour palettes were considered, with Process Magento being the preferred choice to work for both the salon’s female and male clientele.

Logo

Annette was bowled over by the new identity – at one point she made actual cooing noises during the presentation – and agreed with us that it was bang on brief.

As part of the concept development, Mike also created a brand pattern that could be used across the business stationery, website, and even in the salon decor if Annette wanted to.

The brand identity was carried through to a new responsive website design and Annette’s delighted with the end results.

The result

Although Annette herself would admit that it was a big decision for her, she trusted Tomango to deliver a new brand identity and website that was bang on brief.

She’s now enjoying watching her business grow in the shape she wants it to be.
